Getting ready for National Ijtema 2024

Mind these thigns whilst you pack

· Pack Light: Carry only the bare necessities. With all your stuff, you will probably need to walk quite a distance to your accommodation.

· Luggage Labels: Be sure to tag all your bags and belongings with luggage tags containing your name and mobile number.

· Be Patient and Cooperative: Everyone, including their bags, will be searched in the interest of security. Please cooperate fully with the requests to ensure a smooth entry.

· Pack Light: The less you bring, the faster you’ll get through security. There may be separate search lanes for people with large luggage, which are likely to be slower.

What to Bring

AIMS Card: Ensure you have an AIMS card available to present.

· Mobile Phone + Battery Pack: To keep you going throughout the event.

· Earplugs: Muffles the sound to sleep.

· Sleeping Essentials: Sleeping bag, duvet, or pillow for comfort.

· Footwear: Rugged boots or wellies for the uneven terrain.

· Waterproof Clothing: Don’t forget a waterproof coat and over-trousers in case it rains.

· Weather-Appropriate Clothing: Pack a change of clothes, including a warm sweater; it can be hot during the day and chilly at night.

· Toiletries: A towel, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, and personal hygiene items.

· Medication: Bring any necessary medication (all prescriptions will be checked at the door).

· Medical Information: Record any medical information, including allergies.

· Sun Protection: Sunscreen and a hat against sun exposure.

· Spectacles/Contacts: If you wear eyeglasses or contact lenses, bring spares and necessary solutions.

· Face Mask: Prefer to bring your own face mask and hand sanitiser.

What not to pack

· Vapes and Smoking Materials: The Ijtema site is a strictly non-smoking and non-vaping zone; they will be confiscated at the entrance and confiscated items will not be returned.

· Sharp Objects: Prohibited inside; they will be confiscated at the entrance and confiscated items will not be returned.

· Large Electronic Equipment: Portable laser equipment, UAVs (drones), professional film or video equipment, and unauthorised recording devices are prohibited. Personal cameras are welcome.

· Hazardous Items: Do not bring anything that might be used offensively or illegally. Confiscated items will not be returned.

Important Information

· Food Restrictions: Only food for personal consumption is allowed.

· Security Checks: Security checks will be thorough, and those suspected of illegal activities may be evicted from the site.
